Holidays in Arunachal Pradesh will show you this largest state in the northeast of India. Its sizes surpass even Assam - the most densely occupied state.

A capital of Arunachal Pradesh is Itanagar, which settles down at a level of 530 m above the average level of the sea.

The name Itanagar has came from Itafort, that means " a brick fort ", which has been constructed in 14 century. The state is located in the east province of the Himalayas. The numerous rivers and streams proceed on the territory of this state.

Here are some sights of the state:
Itanagar

Buddhist temple in Itanagar attracted travellers with its beautiful tomb, towering above the Stupa with the portrait of the monk and unique views, opening on the city. The tree, planted by His Holiness the Dalai Lama grows here.

Ganga Sekhi Lake: A rough 6 km road from Itanagar to the lake passes through magnificent primitive jungle. The bamboo, high trees in buds of orchids and treelike fern - all this is just few plants in rich picture squeness of the jungle.

Having stopped at the bottom of the mountain, you should pass on the bamboo bridge, covered by bamboo mats and that leads to steps, cut out in red clay of a hill.

From the top of the ridge you can see a lake, which can be crossed by a boat, lying below among the vegetation of trees. This is a wonderful place for walk and picnic.

Naharlagun
Park Polo: it is a small botanical garden at the top of a mountain ridge, from which the city is looked. The visitors are attracted in this park by the reed thickets - the reed has a small similarity to a palm tree, but it grows as a bush. Pachin River is a fine fishing place.

A zoo is located in 18 km from Naharlagun and near Benderdeva giving an opportunity for a short while to plunge into the unique fauna of this place.
