Jaipur is a capital of state of Rajasthan.  People have named it the Pink city because the majority of the constructions and buildings there are constructed with use of a pink stone.

As at the construction of the mausoleum Taj Mahal in Agra, Muslim Emperor Shah Jahan forbade the use of a white stone and a marble, which was delivered to Agra from Rajasthan.

In 1947 when India received independence Jaipur became a capital of sovereign state of Rajasthan in the structure of India.15 % of the population are borrowed in sphere of agriculture, 10 % in sphere of army, 60 % are borrowed in sphere of service or in tourism or are engaged in various crafts.

Jaipur is a large tourist centre. Than what is attractive for tourists there? Here in a small territory the ancient cities similar to Jaipur are located - Udaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner. They are famous for the huge quantity of palaces.

Jaipur is the world's largest centre of processing of precious and semiprecious stones. Here stones (rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc.) are processed not only from all ends of India, but also from other countries, such as Brazil, Belgium, etc., which deliver here for processing.
