| The main celebrity in this town is the Revalsar Lake, located in mountains in 24 kilometres on a southeast from Mandi. The lake is the object of pilgrimage for Hinduisms, Buddhists and Sikhs.It is especially honoured by the Tibet Buddhists and a few Tibet monasteries are erected on his bank. |

Reason of such importance of the lake is based on a legend that the great teacher Padmasambhava (on Tibet is Guru Rinpoche), exactly from here began the way to Tibet in eighth century of our era.
Due to his mythical exploits, the Buddhism in Tibet became to grow and now is dominant religion there. To the name of Padmasambkhava numerous legends are related.
He is an author of numerous studies and texts. Many of them were left by him in secret places, found out the hundreds of years after, and served reason of foundation of new lines of transmission of studies in tradition of the Tibet Buddhism. |
