Thiruvananthapuram or Trivandram is a city and port on the southwest coast of India, on the Arabian sea. It is also the administrative center of the state Kerala. Treatment of rubber and copra; textile, woodworking, pharmaceutical, mylovarennaya industry is a handicraft here (goods from an ebony, horn and ivory).

Enjoy your holidays in Thiruvananthapuram. Holidays in India could be best enjoyed by spending your holidays in Thiruvananthapuram.

Although here are little monuments, Thiruvananthapuram is an ideal place for the first stopping at the state, and can serve as a window for the local culture.

The oldest from the most interesting parts of city is a district of Fort on the south, with the Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple and the Puttan Malika Palace, and important centres describe vividly, handicrafts and sculpture are a Shri Chitra Artistic Gallery and Napier Museum, which are located alongside the park in the north.

In addition, schools, specialized on the art of war, and also in dance/theatre crafts, offer to the visitors to meet with physical trainings and arts.

The massive, but not a notable gate conducts from the bus station of East Fort to the Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, which is still managed by the Travancore Royal Family. It is built in style of Tamilnada, which is unusually for Kerala. it is surrounded with the high walls of fortresses and is closed for the non-Hindus. Outside 7-floored building can be seen.

The most part of the temples is dated from 18 century. Radja Martanda Varma built them in addition to the older temple. According to the legend, the temple was founded since Vishnu in the form of a beautiful child united with an enormous tree in the forest, which immediately collapsed on the earth.

Then it grew into the representing Vishnu length whole 13 km.

The Puttan Malika palace is located at the southeast from the temple and became the residence of Travancore since the end of 19 century. This royal family abandoned Padmanabhapuram.

To collect the facilities on an extremely necessary restoration, the royal family first for two hundred or more years opened a palace for the visit of public.

Although a considerable part is still unattainable, it is possible to wander on some of the most impressive parts, which were done in a museum.

In cool chambers, finished the elegant fretted wooden partitions, with the carefully polished floors; the great number of familial values of Travankora are placed. Among the ordinary mass of portraits, royal regalia’s and weapon there are a few authentic treasures, such as a massive crystal throne.
